Hello Camps Bay
Camps Bay is the ultimate beach town for Capetonians and visitors. Rooftop bars, airy beachfront cafés, cool restaurants and lively bars line Victoria Road, a busy thoroughfare between the palm tree-lined street and the Blue Flag white-sand beach. The sunsets are sublime; gaze across the Atlantic or look up to see Table Mountain and the Twelve Apostles mountain chain looming dramatically overhead. And, like Clifton, Camps Bay doesn’t receive the full throttle of the southeastern wind in the summer.
White sands aside, it’s the nightlife that attracts many. There’s an almost Mediterranean feel (some say French Riviera or even Miami), to Victoria Road. Diners and drinkers jostle for space at kerbside tables, and music rings out from bars and restaurants. A convenient base for Cape Town visitors who want a halfway point between the city proper and the road to Cape Point, Camps Bay is also perfectly positioned for outdoor activities including hiking, paragliding and abseiling in Table Mountain National Park.
