Hello Punta Cana
Punta Cana is all about beaches and resorts and, like the Dominican Republic in general, does both things very well indeed. The beaches are simply stunning; whether you're lounging on the immaculate white sand – cocktail in one hand, good book in the other – or putting both down in order to splash about in the azure waters lapping at the shore, Punta Cana is an irresistible, Caribbean coastal paradise. The colors might be the same along whichever stretch of beach it is that you're relaxing on, but that's not to say that they're all indistinguishable from one another. Playa Macao and Playa Blanca are popular with surfers and kitesurfers respectively, while Playa Baravo – perhaps the most well-known beach of the dozen or so that line the coast – is a great spot for parasailing and watching the sunset over dinner at an ocean-view restaurant. Luxurious resorts are another specialty in Punta Cana, while keen golfers will find it hard to resist a round or two on one of the area’s great courses. Palm trees, beaches, upscale resorts – just what the doctor ordered!
