Downtown Core

Hello Downtown Core

Toronto is a big, exciting city, and nowhere is it more noisy and vibrant than in the Downtown Core. You’ll find glitzy restaurants, raucous sports bars, underground shopping centers, art galleries, ice hockey museums, bustling brewpubs, and everything else in between in Downtown Toronto, not to mention the iconic, lit-up CN Tower. For the full panoramic experience, think about reserving a table in the restaurant at the top. It rotates 360 degrees over the course of the evening, and the views are stunning – just don’t enjoy it too much otherwise your food might go cold.

There’s plenty to see around the base of the tower, too: from microbrewery beer in historic railway roundhouses to noisy nights watching baseball in the Rogers Center, there’s a reason this part of downtown is known as the Entertainment District. Walk east of the CN Tower to check out the district’s fancy bars and restaurants, or head north up to Chinatown for inexpensive Chinese food and College Street for pitchers of beer in lively student bars. For big-brand shopping, you needn’t look any further than the Toronto Eaton Center, but neither should you expect to have it all to yourself; it’s believed to be the busiest shopping mall in the whole of North America.

To take a break from downtown for an afternoon or evening, hop on the streetcar and check out the Distillery District, which comes complete with cobbled streets, breweries, and intimate art galleries.
