What is TRVL, and how did TRVL respond to the COVID-19 crisis?

TRVL is a global travel agent community and a revolutionary booking platform that compares prices and commission rates of over 20 million hotel rooms from Expedia, Booking and Bedsonline. Our members also have exclusive access to 60,000 industry deals with discounts of 20 to 65%.

Confronted with the COVID-19 crisis we decided to create a travel agent marketplace, where travel pros can be found and connect with customers all over the world. Our existing members are the driving force behind this initiative.

I am a travel pro but I am out of work because of the COVID-19 crisis, can I still join?

Yes you can. We’re sad to see some of our colleagues out of work due to the crisis. It would be a shame if your expertise and passion would be lost, and as a community of travel agents, we welcome you with open arms.

How do I make money with TRVL?

You will earn a travel agent commission on every booking. You can make bookings for your existing clients and, when our travel agent marketplace launches, for customers around the world.

How and when do I get paid the commission that I have earned?

TRVL will pay you the accrued commission at the beginning of each month. The commission becomes payable when, in total, it exceeds US$50 or the equivalent thereof of the currency chosen by you.

Do you also have hotel deals and discounts?

TRVL has around 60,000 hotel deals with industry discounts of 20% to 65% exclusively for TRVL members.

Can I join, do I qualify?

To join, you have to be 18 years or older and work as a travel pro. You must also agree with and adhere to our terms and conditions.

I am NOT a travel pro, can I still join?

No. We're sorry, but TRVL is created by travel pros and is for travel pros only.

Is joining TRVL really free?

Yes it is absolutely free.

How do I join?

Please go to www.trvl.com/join to register. This will only take a minute. After registering we will verify your credentials. When your credentials check out, you will receive an email with a sign up link.

Why is there a dolphin in your logo?

Since the beginning of time, dolphins have been recognised as helpers of humankind, guiding travelers to safety across the seven seas. Seeing dolphins riding in front of a ship’s bow is a sign of good luck. In our brand image the dolphin symbolises the guidance and helpful nature of a travel agent.

Why is your slogan "Together we've been everywhere"?

Our travel agent community is based on the principle of sharing expert recommendations with each other. By combining all the recommendations from all our members, we're creating a travel agent knowledge centre that spans the globe and benefits us all.

Why do I need to set up a profile?

You need a profile to be found and to connect with customers and other members. Setting up your profile will take no more than 30 minutes and you only have to do this once.

When will the travel agent marketplace launch, and how will customers find me?

The marketplace that we're building today will launch after the summer, when we expect travel bookings to pick up again. Your profile and your hotel recommendations will determine how customers will find you and connect with you.

I am ready to make my first booking, how does it work?

It is very similar to other booking platforms, but more user friendly. If you have any questions, please contact [email protected] and we will help you to get started.

How do I find the perfect hotel?

TRVL will show you the hotel that comes recommended by other TRVL members first, so you don't have to waste time on hotels that don't make the cut. You can further narrow down your search by using our smart filters.

How does the price and commission comparison work?

With every search you’ll see the best deals from our suppliers. TRVL compares the prices, and when you click on the hotel and go to the hotel detail page, we're also comparing the commission. So you will know in an instant where you will earn the highest commission.

What payment methods to make a booking do you support?

The payment methods currently accepted are Visa, MasterCard, American Express, BC Card, Diners Club International, JCB, and Discover (the payment method accepted varies per supplier and will be displayed on the checkout page).

Do I pay TRVL or the supplier when I make a booking?

You pay the supplier, TRVL doesn't handle the money. When you make a booking, you enter into an agreement with them. The suppliers are also responsible for the fulfilment and any changes you wish to make to your booking. You'll find all the details on the booking confirmation, on your dashboard and on www.trvl.com/support.

How do I know if a booking is confirmed?

You will receive a confirmation email with the details of your booking shortly after booking your hotel. This will be sent to the email address that you entered on the checkout page. If you think you have made a booking but haven’t received a confirmation email, check your spam/junk folder. If you can’t find the email, contact the supplier that you booked the hotel through. Please visit the support page for the appropriate numbers. If the supplier can’t locate your booking, contact us at [email protected]

I have made a change to my booking, but I don't see this change on my TRVL dashboard?

If you have made a change it can take up to 24 hours to see it on your dashboard.

How can I change or cancel my booking?

You can use the link to the self service tool which you find in the confirmation email and your dashboard. Our suppliers handle customer service directly, providing a dedicated, 24/7 customer service. If you need to call one of the suppliers, please go to www.trvl.com/support for the appropriate customer service number to contact.

Where can I find details of the cancellation policy?

Before you make a booking, the cancellation policy is displayed on room level and again on the check out page, together with the date the free cancellation expires. After you have made a booking, you will find this information on your booking confirmation.

What happens to my commission if a booking is changed or cancelled?

If a booking is cancelled, you will not receive the commission eligible for that booking. If a booking is changed, your commission will change accordingly.

How is the commission calculated?

The commission is determined by the supplier and can differ per hotel and per room. The commission that is shown to you at the time of booking, is an estimate. It might differ slightly because of rounding differences and currency rates which can change between the time of the booking and the stay.

Can I change the currency?

Yes, you can, by clicking on the currency sign in the top right corner of your display. This will open a drop down menu which will allow you to select a currency.

Should I send TRVL an invoice?

No we can’t accept an invoice from you, but TRVL will provide you with a credit invoice every month, which you can download from your dashboard.

Does TRVL only offer hotels and no other products?

At the moment TRVL offers hotels, apartments and holiday homes. We have plans to add tours, activities and car rentals at a later stage.

Do customers need an online travel agent marketplace?

Yes we believe they do and research confirms this. Surveys from CMA and Yieldify show that a staggering 80% of consumers that book online would like personalised advice (check!) and 47% of travelers find online travel planning outright stressful (check!). Conclusion: there is a serious need to offer the services of travel agents online and help customers with their trip planning.

Can I send my clients a voucher or a summary of the booking?

Yes. After you have made a booking, you can send your clients a booking confirmation / voucher. Before sending it, you can customise it: you can hide the price, add your individual logo and contact details, add the name of your client and add other details which you would like to include.
