What is TRVL today?
Today TRVL is a one-stop internet booking platform that unlocks over 2 million hotels and apartments of the 5 main trusted consumer brands. You will earn a sales commission for every booking and you can price and commission compare every hotel. We help you find the ideal hotel for your client based on expert recommendations.
Do you also give access to Expedia and Booking.com?
Yes, TRVL gives you direct access to 5 brands: Booking.com, Hotels.com, Expedia, Priceline and Agoda. We have integrated their full inventory into one seamless booking flow. There are no click outs, so you won’t be sent to third party websites.
Does TRVL also have hotel deals?
Yes, TRVL gives you access to around 60,000 deals with discounts from 20% to 65%, which you won’t find anywhere else.
Is TRVL free, or are their (hidden) costs that I should know of?
TRVL is free. There are no hidden costs.
How do I sign up?
Just go to www.trvl.com and join the waitlist. This will only take a minute. After joining the waitlist you will be contacted by a member of our team, who will check your credentials and give you access.
Why is there a waitlist?
TRVL is created exclusively for travel Pros. The waitlist helps us to make sure only qualified members will join.
How do I qualify?
You qualify when you’re 18 years old and work as a Travel Pro. You don’t have to work fulltime, but we have to verify your credentials before we can let you in. You must also adhere to our terms and conditions.
Why do I need to make hotel recommendations as part of setting up my account?
When you join TRVL, you will have access to all of the recommendations of your peers and colleagues. These recommendations will help you find the ideal hotel for your clients. This only works if every Travel Pro in return shares his/her best recommendations. We ask you to recommend three hotels, which will in turn give you access to thousands of recommendations from your fellow colleagues.
What hotels should I recommend?
Hotels that you are deeply passionate about. Whether these are your favorite hotels from a lifetime of traveling, personal experience or from your knowledge as a Travel Pro. Please only recommend hotels that you feel you can confidently vow for. Please also make sure that your knowledge of the hotel is up to date.
Why can I only recommend three to five hotels; why not more?
Because we want to make sure that the hotels you’re recommending are your absolute favorites. This means that you can trust that the hotels recommended are your colleagues top choices.
Ok, I am ready to make my first booking, how does it work?
It is very similar to other websites with easy to use search options. The difference is that TRVL will offer you a price and commission comparison as well as offer recommendations from fellow Travel Pro’s which will help you find the ideal hotel for your client.
How do I find the ideal hotel for my clients?
TRVL always shows you the hotels that are recommended by other Travel Pros first. The most popular recommendations automatically float to the top.
How does the price and commission comparison work?
With every search you’ll see the best deals from Booking.com, Hotels.com, Expedia, Priceline and Agoda as well as TRVL Insider deals. We also show you all of the different commissions that you can earn for that hotel.
Who is responsible for the booking and the payment?
Payments are handled directly by our suppliers: Booking.com, Hotels.com, Expedia, or Priceline (includes Agoda and TRVL Insider). The payment methods currently accepted are Visa, MasterCard, American Express, BC Card, Diners Club International, JCB, and Discover (the payment method accepted varies by supplier and will be displayed on the checkout page).The person booking the hotel should make the payment.
How do I know if a booking is confirmed?
You will receive a confirmation email with the details of your booking shortly after booking your hotel. This will be sent to the email address that you entered on the checkout page. If you think you have made a booking but haven’t received a confirmation email, check your spam/junk folder. If you can’t find the email, contact the supplier that you booked the hotel through. Please visit the support page for the appropriate numbers. If the supplier can’t locate your booking, contact us at [email protected].
How can I change or cancel my booking?
Booking.com, Hotels.com, Expedia, and Priceline (including Agoda and Insider) handle customer service directly, providing dedicated, 24/7 customer service. For Booking.com, you can use the self-service tool provided in your confirmation email to change or cancel your booking. For Hotels.com & Expedia you can make cancellations using the self-service tool in the confirmation email. For Priceline (including Agoda), you can cancel your booking using the self-service tool provided in the confirmation email. If you need to call one of the suppliers, please see our support page for the appropriate customer service number to contact.
Where can I find details of the cancellation policy?
Free cancellation information is displayed on room level, together with the date the free cancellation expires. You will also find this information on the check out page and on your booking confirmation.
What happens to my commission if a booking is changed or cancelled?
If a booking is cancelled, you will not receive the commission eligible for that booking. If a booking is changed, your commission will change accordingly.
How is the commission calculated?
The commission is always calculated on the net rates, excluding taxes and fees. The commission that is shown to you at the time of making a booking, is an estimate. It might differ slightly because of rounding differences and currency rates which can change between the time of the booking being made and the stay being consumed.
Can I change the currency?
Yes, you can, by clicking on the currency sign in the top right corner of your display. This will open a drop down menu which will allow you to select a currency. TRVL supports 21 currencies.
What if I want to show my clients the hotel but not the commission?
You can change the price settings by clicking on the currency sign in the top right corner of your display. This will open up a drop down menu which will offer you the option to display prices excluding fees & taxes, show or hide commission or show the total price of the stay instead of the price per night.
Can I send my clients a voucher or a summary of the booking?
Yes, you can edit the booking confirmation. You can hide the price, add your individual logo and contact details, add the name of your client and add other details which you would like to include. When you’re ready you can download the booking confirmation as a PDF and share it with your client.
Does TRVL only offer hotels and no other products?
At the moment TRVL offers hotels, apartments and holiday homes. We have plans to add tours, activities and car rentals at a later stage.
How and when do I get paid the commission that I have earned?
If you’re part of a travel agent network, TRVL will make monthly batch payments to your network and you will receive your payments via your network. If you’re an independent agent you can keep track of your commission payments in your dashboard. On or before the 5th of each month a batch payment will be made to you. The accrued commissions become payable when, in total, they exceed US$50 or equivalent thereof of the currency elected by you.
Should I send TRVL an invoice?
No, but rest assured, TRVL will provide you with a credit invoice every month. TRVL can’t accept any invoices sent by you.
