Hello Green Point
Out of the city center proper, and the Atlantic seaboard suburbs come into their own. First up is Mouille Point, which stretches along the coast between the V&A Waterfront and the striking, red-and-white Victorian lighthouse which Mouille Point is best known for. Merging into the larger Green Point, home to Cape Town Stadium, these areas attract young Capetonians for its proximity to the city center and waterfront, and both offer easy access to the Cape’s prettier beaches further south at Camps Bay and Clifton.
With an increasing number of hotels and boutique hostels opening up, it’s a brilliant place to stay too. Undergoing something of a revival, Green Point has developed its own vibe in recent years, with countless restaurants, bars, clubs, and shops near and along its main street. Green Point Park is another plus, a vast green urban haven, with an Outdoor Labyrinth and a Biodiversity Showcase Garden home to indigenous Cape flora.
