Hello Logan Circle

East of Dupont Circle and northeast of Downtown is the brilliantly located residential area of Logan Circle. With grand Victorian townhouses, and incorporating the historic neighborhood of U-Street, this under-rated spot is cited by many as one to watch out for. Its bar scene is diverse, with cocktail bars, tapas bars and craft beer pubs on the rise, including Bar Pilar – inspired by Ernest Hemingway – and Latin-inspired cuisine and rooftop drinks at Masa 15. Lively 14th Street is the place to be, with its selection of galleries, designer and second-hand shops, brunch spots, and restaurants. There’s also an ever-growing live music scene. It’s all very walkable, too; explore the African-American history of the U-Street area, home to the African American Civil War Memorial and its connected museum. Like Georgetown, there’s no metro train stop but buses along 14th Street connect you to Smithsonian Museums and other Washington DC attractions. And for something quirky, find the creatively painted Watermelon House near Logan Circle at 1112 Q Street NW…
