Hello Sea Point / Fresnaye
Between Signal Hill and the Atlantic Ocean are the suburbs of Sea Point and Fresnaye, just west of Green Point. Another one of Cape Town’s more affluent areas, their residential feel make them an appealing place to stay, with more locals than tourists frequenting the many cafes, bars, and restaurants, while guesthouses are of an overall high quality. Local favorites include Caturra Coffee Bar on Regent Road and Buzbey’s Grill, whose steaks and calamari are renowned. A sunset drive to flat-topped Signal Hill is a must for panoramic views over Sea Point.
Sea Point’s beachfront promenade, which extends from Mouille Point, is the hub of the neighborhood, popular with walkers, joggers, and dawdlers. With views of Table Mountain, Signal Hill, and Lion's Head appearing at varying intervals, it’s the perfect place for an ice cream and a stroll. The beaches aren’t much to talk about here but the rock pools are fun and the sunsets are impressive, while outdoor pools such as Sea Point Pavilion Swimming Pool are worth visiting.
