Hello South Bank
London's South Bank has for a long time been at the center of the city’s provision of public entertainment. There was theater and bear-baiting in the Middle Ages, genteel pleasure gardens in the 18th-century, while today you can experience everything from concerts at the Udderbelly to special screenings at the British Film Institute. One of the best experiences you can have on the South Bank is to see a play at the reconstructed Shakespeare’s Globe. Just 200m away from the location of the original, 16th-century Globe Theater, it makes for a unique, inspiring spectacle. Pubs, restaurants, and bars line the banks of the Thames and its adjoining streets, while to try a little bit of everything head to Borough Market. Gourmet scotch eggs, curries, pulled pork sandwiches – this food market is one of London’s coolest foodie hotspots. You can't miss the London Eye, either, while the British Film Institute, the National Theatre and The Young Vic also sit along the river.
