Well, start engaging with travelers that want to book your trips, of course! Now, you may be asking, where do I find these travelers? We’ve drawn up a few tips for you to get you started…

TRVL makes it possible for you to set up and run your own agent website. See it as your own, personal space to share travel tips and itineraries, communicate with travelers from around the globe and show them your passion for and expertise of your favorite destinations.

First step: claim your name now! Your URL will look like this: myname.trvl. com

To claim your name, log in and go to your profile. Then choose “Edit homepage.” Here, you can choose a URL and fill in more information to complete your website. If the URL is available, you will see a green tick next to the URL field. Click “Save” to claim that URL, and you’re ready to get started with your new website. If you haven't signed up as an agent yet, do so here. It's free and only takes a few seconds!

2. Reach out to the people you know

We all know lots of people: family, friends, colleagues, and neighbors. The list goes on. You already know these people and their preferences, and they know and trust you. This is the best place to find your first travelers because you have already built relationships with these people. Reach out to these connections and see if someone needs help planning a trip. Maybe your aunt is planning to go to Italy but has never been before. Maybe your neighbor wants to go to Australia, but he doesn’t know where to begin when planning the trip. Finding your first clients among the people you already know and care about is a great strategy to find your first travelers.

3. Advertise on your social media accounts

Here’s a challenge: try to think of someone who doesn’t use any form of social media. No Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc. It’s really difficult, right? Social media connects us to an unprecedented number of people with the simple click of a button. Why not use this power to promote yourself as a TRVL agent? It’s the easiest way to reach a lot of people with minimal effort. Instead of posting adorable pictures of your dog, you can post about your new travel business.

4. Create social media pages for your travel business

Take using social media to the next level by creating a new Facebook page, Instagram account, Twitter account, or whichever social media platform you prefer to let people know that you are now a TRVL agent ready to help them plan their trips. It’s a good idea to post engaging and helpful material about travel to keep people interested and to inspire them to book their next trip with you as their TRVL Agent. Allow people to like or become a fan of your page and to leave reviews about their experience using your services. The more positive reviews you get, the more trusting travelers you will attract.

5. Define your niche

Each person has their own experience of traveling. Tap into your experience, and identify your areas of expertise. Advertise these specialties to attract travelers with the same interests who will be inspired by these trips. You should show what is unique about you and your services in order to stand out from the crowd.

6. Create a network

Networking is a great tool when beginning in a new industry. It would be a good idea to get in touch with other agents and introduce yourself. Make others aware of your expertise and learn about other agents’ expertise. If you find a traveler who is looking for a trip that falls under someone else’s specialty, refer the traveler to another agent that you know and trust. In return, other agents can refer travelers to you for trips that fall under your area of expertise. This way, agents are drawing on their expertise to plan the best possible trips for travelers. Great trips = great reviews = more clients.

7. Use word of mouth

In this digital age that we live in, we often forget about a good old-fashioned form of advertising – word of mouth. Talk about your new travel business at every opportunity that you get. The more you talk about it, the more likely that word of your services as a TRVL agent will reach the ears of an eager traveler looking to plan a trip with your help.

So, now you’re all set. Use these tips to get out there and grow your business. After all, the more travelers you book trips for, the more people you will help and the more commission you will earn!
