Cherie Banta is one of TRVL’s home-based TRVL Agents, and in her own words, she is "just a middle-aged woman living in North Idaho." Cherie works as a healthcare administrator and is a TRVL Agent in her free time. I asked her about herself and how she is making her TRVL profile successful.
Cherie loves to travel, and believes that traveling solo throughout much of her life has given her many long-lasting memories. She created a TRVL profile to inspire others to follow in her travel footsteps. Many people these days are too busy to find the time to sit down and research their own trips, so Cherie, who likes doing this, decided to create bespoke travel itineraries for her friends and family – while earning a commission from it in the process.
One of Cherie’s clients is her boss, who Cherie hooked up with a great hotel in Seattle: The Hyatt at Olive 8. Her boss had to attend a conference in Seattle and he asked Cherie to arrange everything. Her boss knew that she loved traveling, and that Cherie would book a great hotel for his trip. Knowing that the booking was protected by Hotels.com or Booking.com’s T&Cs, he booked the hotel through TRVL with the link provided by Cherie.
If you are honest and friendly, and don’t pressure people into booking with you, they will come back and ask for your help.
I asked Cherie for her top tips for other wannabe TRVL Agents. She emphasized that it is important to always let everyone within your circles know that you have a TRVL Agent website and that you are available for bookings. She also advised to emphasize that booking through a TRVL Agent’s profile costs absolutely nothing more than the hotel cost itself. This is a great point, because most hotel booking sites add an administration fee!
Getting people to come back and book through her TRVL profile again is a priority for Cherie. If you are honest and friendly, and don’t pressure people into booking with you, they will come back and ask for your help with booking hotels again for their future trips.
Cherie’s is a good example of how TRVL can help people with a passion for travel earn an additional income in their free time, just by recommending hotels to people who ask for help. Now what’s not to love about that?
