Hello West Queen West
Toronto is one of most culturally and gastronomically vibrant cities in North America, and nowhere is this in more clearly in evidence than in West Queen West. With its smart cafes and bistros, independent clothes shops and bookstores, and trend-setting boutique hotels, this cool, artsy neighborhood packs a pretty big punch. The neighborhood is at its most colorful along Graffiti Alley – a one-kilometer stretch of striking, legal street art – and there are loads of art galleries, too; West Queen West boasts the highest concentration of art galleries in Toronto, in fact. When you're not nosing around some of these or knocking back a coffee and a quesadilla for lunch, you might find yourself in Trinity Bellwoods Park: a popular local hangout spot, this is one of the most pleasant green spaces in the city. The bars and restaurants in West Queen West are fantastic, and they are all along Queen Street West and nearby King Street West too. Pick one and walk east and you'll get to the Downtown Core in around thirty minutes – you can also take the streetcar – and stop by in one or several of the upscale cocktail joints, rough-and-ready, packed-out bars, and fashionable boutiques along the way.
